Etisalat Launches GEM Loyalty Program for High Value Customers … Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Nigeria‘s most innovative telecommunications company, Etisalat has launched a new high value proposition tagged “Etisalat GEM” as it  celebrated its fifth anniversary in Nigeria with a cocktail party attended by over 200 of its high value customers last weekend at the pool side of Radisson Blu Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Acting CEO and Chief Commercial Officer at Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher informed guests at the event that though Etisalat was the last entrant in the telecommunications market in Nigeria, the company came with the obligation of providing affordable and reliable telecommunication services to Nigerians. “Many of you can still recall the high cost of communication when we launched in 2008 . Now things have changed a great deal. Etisalat has been able to offer competitive products and services to Nigerians which have forced down the cost of keeping in touch with family, friends and business associates,” he said.

The high point of the occasion was the unveiling of a new customer loyalty reward program for high value customers on the Etisalat network tagged ‘Etisalat GEM’ which Willsher said “will improve customer experience on the network”

Revealing the new Etisalat GEM, Director, Consumer at Etisalat Nigeria, Oluwole Rawa explained that “the loyalty program for our high value customers is designed to show appreciation for their loyalty to Etisalat since inception.” On mechanics of  Etisalat GEM , Rawa disclosed that with the program, Etisalat customers who use between N10,000 to N30,000 monthly will get Etisalat dongle with 500MB data monthly for six months and free 10 minutes calls plus 50 SMS to all Etisalat lines on their birthday.

In addition, he said, high value customers who use between N30,000 to N50,000 will enjoy free MiFi with 500MB data monthly for twelve months, free VIP (box) ticket to watch Barcelona live match at the Nou camp, in Barcelona, enjoy special invites to Etisalat exclusive events, free calls and texts on their birthday, and high value identity card which they can use to gain express service at any Etisalat Experience Centre nationwide, among others. For customers who use between N50,000 and above, they will get free devices ranging from apple, blackberry, Samsung or Nokia product, $1,000 shopping voucher, free VIP (box) tickets to watch FC Barcelona live match at the Nou camp, special invites to Etisalat exclusive events, , free calls and SMS on their birthdays, and an Etisalat High Value Identity card.

Customers with a minimum balance of N5,000 before traveling will receive calls for free when roaming in select destinations around the world and networks (UK – Vodafone, USA – T-Mobile, UAE – Etisalat, South Africa – Vodacom, Saudi Arabia – Mobily and Netherland – KPN.

Etisalat launched operation in Nigeria in 2008, and has risen to become Nigeria’s third largest GSM operator, with a subscriber base of 16 million.
